Blues Lead Guitar
February 18, 2004 Lessons

A lot of the lessons on this website seem to be based on either neoclassical styles or metal, and really don’t touch on anything else.

So I’m going to introduce blues lead guitar. Remember that you can incorporate this into metal. (neoclassical is not a style I am familiar with, so I am unaware if you can incorporate it into that)

Firstly, you must learn two versions of the A minor blues pentatonic.

they are:

blues lead 1

(remember these scales can be moves to any position)
Blues uses a lot of bends, and is usually slow and melodic.
It also uses paired notes a lot (see previous lessons)
an example of a blues lick would be:

blues lead 2

I will do a lesson on blues rhythm later, but meanwhile, experiment with those scales and have fun.
