Today we’ll look at guitar harmonisation. Guitar harmonisation is used by iron maiden, metallica, priest, and a lot ofdeath metal and post-death metal bands.

You will need two guitarists, a harmonist device or a sound recorder for this.

The minor scale is (in the key of E)

So for a harmonised lick, it will just follow the notes an interval above.

e.g. if one guitar plays

the other one will play:

-10-12-14-
———-

and just follows the pattern (but on one string)

Shredaholic note: the pattern is a harmonic interval, you are playing in thirds (i.e. when you play the first note of the scale, the third note in the scale is also being played)
