Sweep Picking Exercise

Hey, shredders. I guess I haven’t introduced myself yet in my other exercises, so let me do that. I’m David and I’m a 16-year old shred guitar player. Okay, that’s basically it.

Today we’re going to focus on developing sweep picking. These are relatively easy 5-string minor/major arpeggio shapes–probably the easiest to learn on and get a feel for, so if you’re just getting started with sweep picking, this is a good exercise. I also tacked on a short A major (with a flat 6) alternate picking scalar run and an D minor sweep arpeggio with a tap at the end to make the exercise complete.

Have fun, and happy shredding!
