Much like his previous work, Jim has managed to create another great disc of material that’s creative and original but is still very much recognisable as Jim’s signature sound. Still doing his trademark dis-harmony licks and highly advanced composition, there’s definitely some great experimenting! The sound is still very technical and a lot of the licks are very diminished sounding and jazzy. Compared to his last release though, this album has a bit more clean setting playing and is not as heavy. There’s even some ballad style songs on here, but Jim definitely has his own unique sound.

One of the songs on Panic Attack features great guitar virtuoso shredder Francesco Fareri entitled ‘Speed Trip”, and as you’d expect, great fast shredding is present in this song, nice and fluid. This is definitely the sort of music that features odd time changes in places, which as always is an interest for the ear to listen to.

As on his last effort, Jim’s playing is very clean and fluid. This is great because it compliments his unique playing style really well. The bass and drums also on this album are fantastic, very technical and challenging sounding stuff. The production quality is also top notch; you can make each instrument out really clearly and the album sounds really well done.

Overall this album is highly recommended, great ideas and interesting good music for you shred heads out there, if you listened to his previous effort ”Zero Tolerance” and liked it, I definitely recommend this release, and if you listened to this first and liked it, then check out Zero Tolerance.
